Clark Consulting Announces Divestiture of Compensation Group
January 22, 2008 - Clark Consulting has announced that it will streamline the array of services the firm offers, returning its focus to executive benefits and business-owned life insurance. The firm will continue to provide its clients with strategic financing of underfunded and unfunded liabilities utilizing the latest advancements in COLI and BOLI products, but Clark Consulting is divesting its remaining compensation consulting group, which has begun operation as a separate entity, Amalfi Consulting, LLC.
“In today’s business environment, one which values specialization and expertise, Clark Consulting has made the strategic business decision to return to our roots,” said Kurt Laning, President of Clark Consulting. “Helping clients analyze and optimize the risk return relationship of their executive benefit plans and business-owned life insurance programs (COLI, BOLI) are our primary areas of expertise, and concentrating on consulting within that framework provides our clients with the best we have to offer.”
Amalfi Consulting, formerly the Compensation Group of Clark Consulting, will assume Clark’s former compensation clients and continue to offer those clients its compensation expertise in the banking industry. Amalfi Consulting will focus on helping clients navigate their board of director and officer compensation issues. “We are very excited about this new opportunity,” said Todd Leone, president of Amalfi Consulting. “This change allows us to provide our consulting expertise to our clients with increased focus. Our goal has always been and continues to be to help our clients become better through state-of-the-art compensation solutions. We have focused on compensation consulting for 10 years within Clark Consulting; they have been a great partner. We look forward to continuing to work with our clients in solving their compensation issues under Amalfi Consulting.”
Clark Consulting has been a leading provider of Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and Corporate-Owned Life Insurance (COLI) for the past 25 and 40 years respectively, and the company views these new service changes in keeping with Clark’s historical success. Laning concluded, “By turning our focus entirely toward financing solutions and executive benefits, we are providing our clients with the industry-leading advice they have come to expect from Clark Consulting for more than 40 years."
